DECOLITE lightweight non structural building systems offer the latest in alternative building technology. Decolite elements replace standard construction materials in a decorative, non-structural role, such as gypsum, concrete, aluminium, PVC, Perspex, steel, and fibre cement, to mention a few. Its long lasting 3Gx polymer offers the realism of Stone, Plaster, steel, or GRC – without the disadvantages. Unlike concrete and certain other construction materials, Decolite will not spall, crack, corrode, rot, warp, decay, or become unduly affected in harsh climatic environments.

Decolite STANDARD lightweight building profiles are created by CNC wire cutting the required shape from a solid block of high-density EPS. Once the shape has been created it is encased in our 3Gx structural polymer. The Decolite polymer encapsulates and seals the surface and gives the finished product its heavy-duty durability for internal and external applications.

Decolite FIRE RESISTANT elements are created by constructing moulds using our unique mould building technique, and casting 3Gx into the moulds, which are then striped and fused together, eliminating the need for an EPS core.

Decolite offers 3-dimensional functionality while adhering to the aesthetics of any architectural design trend. With Decolite we are able to manufacture any design or relief pattern, and our interpretation of your design requirements results in award winning aesthetics excellence. The securing of the product may be done with either a chemical or mechanical fixing system, or a combination of both depending on the wind loading, size of profile and application.

The Decolite system of light weight elements was developed by Frascada Projects in 2002. The then waterproofing, and concrete structural repair contractor, was working primarily with polyurethanes and epoxy’s, and was seeking a new avenue for these materials. Through extensive research into building materials and systems, a unique need for lightweight decorative elements was found, and so the development of Decolite began.

From humble beginnings in a small storage facility, Derek Frasca began developing Decolite architectural mouldings. This small company soon transformed in to a major force in EPS mouldings, not only in South Africa, but in Africa as well.

The original design was high density expanded polystyrene, wire cut to any 3 dimensional shape and then coated with a mixture of polyuria and sand. This process has now developed into a range of systems to suit specific conditions and requirements.

The development of these systems now offers architects and designers complete freedom in design while ensuring a hard wearing casing for external and internal applications. With the advancement of technology and constant R&D, we are now able to offer a selection of finishes, which includes simulated concrete.

With a small passionate group of employees, Decolite has grown into a recognized brand now housed in a 2000m2 factory in Krugersdorp Johannesburg.

The factory and installation crews supply profiles to projects all over Africa and have worked as far afield as Accra Ghana, Lagos, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique.
